Cleveland Utilities, the City of Cleveland Engineering, and Bradley County GIS are currently using four GPS Rovers to collect field data. Cleveland Utilities Electric Division and Bradley County GIS are utilizing the Leica GPS1200 Rover, while Cleveland Utilities Water Division and the City of Cleveland Engineering are utilizing the Leica GPS500 Rover. These units connect to a Reference Station located at Cleveland Utilities which allows
them to obtain survey-grade, sub-centimeter accuracy.
Leica GPS1200 The Leica GPS1200 incorporates several features to provide the performance necessary for any GPS application. Built to MIL specs this unit can take the abuse of field work and will perform in extreme hot, cold, wet, or dry weather. Using Leica Geo Office, the interface software that compliments this unit, the GPS1200 can be easily programmed to meet the needs of every individual using it to get the job done quickly and efficiently. Leica GPS500 The Leica GPS500 is the unit preceding the GPS1200. It is simple to use and can be easily programmed to meet the needs of the user. Using Leica GIS DataPro, the interface software for this unit, the points, lines, and areas you collect can be converted so you can import them directly into Microstation, AutoCad, or many other leading design programs.
